Fishing isn’t just a hobby for Mike M.—it’s a passion. On trips to his local Texas Gulf bait shop, he noticed anglers juggling multiple buckets just to carry different baits. The hassle sparked an idea: a more practical, all-in-one bait solution.

Mike built the first prototype using plastic tubing, mesh, and zip ties—stackable, buoyant, and designed to fit inside a 5-gallon bucket. With foam and a strap added, it worked whether on a boat or while wade fishing. And so, the Bait Hammock was born.

To bring the idea to life, Mike partnered with Mark Eshelman at Killer Rabbit LLC, who transformed the prototype into a patentable, production-ready design. The Bait Hammock features separate, easily accessible compartments for multiple bait types—like shrimp, croaker, and mullet—making switching fast and spill-free. It fits neatly in bait wells and improves water flow to keep bait fresher, longer.​ An adjustable strap doubles as both handle and tether, giving anglers flexibility from shore, kayak, or boat. With its smart design and real-world functionality, the Bait Hammock is made to make fishing smoother, more efficient, and more enjoyable.
